Welcome to the very first episode of The Green Fund's CannaCast! The CannaCast will feature pre-eminent figures within the cannabis space, whether it be entrepreneurs, doctors, chefs, or CEO's of cannabis companies, we will be speaking to the people that have made waves in the cannabis industry.
As many will know, the cannabis plant is multifaceted and can fit within a multitude of industries. There are plenty of ways to skin a cat, and there are plenty of ways to get involved in the cannabis space, so we'll be exploring the wide array of individuals within the space and taking a look at their unique expertise.
As such, we bring you our very first episode of The CannaCast, with the legendary Dennis McKenna!
Dennis McKenna rose to prominence alongside his brother Terence, as the pair wrote and published 'The Magic Mushroom Growers Guide' under pseudonyms in the 70s. While Terence took to giving lectures on the mysteries surrounding psychedelics, Dennis took a more conventional approach by dedicating his doctorate thesis work to studying Ayahuasca, and pursuing fellowships shortly afterward.
Dennis has since gone on to deliver lectures, write books and create companies that all orbit around the use and exploration of psychedelic substances. While my discussion with Dennis wasn't limited to, or even predominantly focused upon cannabis, I believe that psychedelics are certainly the next step on the horizon with regard to ending the War on Drugs. As cannabis moves further into the mainstream, the possibility that psychedelics have something to offer will begin to become increasingly hard to ignore.
Moreover, Dennis believes that psychedelics are much more deeply intertwined with human civilization and evolution than we may currently know…So make yourself a nice cup of joe, sit back, and enjoy, the first episode of the CannaCast with Dennis McKenna. You can find more of Dennis's work at Mckenna.Academy.
